Clement’s works have been performed by the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, the Atlantic String Quartet, the Canyonlands Ensemble (Salt Lake City), Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, and the Washington Square Contemporary Music Ensemble. And she’s written for everything from solo piano to string quartet, and 4 track synthesized audio to orchestra. Among her awards are The Goddard Lieberson Award from the American Academy and Institute of Arts & Letters and a Fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation.
Her New York credits include concerts at Merkin Hall, Carnegie Recital Hall, and Miller Theatre. Other credits include the University of Michigan, Kresge Hall at MIT, Oberlin Conservatory, Tulane University, and the Tanglewood Music Center.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she studied piano, music theory and composition as a young person at the Peabody Institute and the Junior Conservatory Camp. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Michigan and holds a doctorate in Music Composition from Columbia University. She studied with Mario Davidovsky, William Albright, William Bolcom, George Wilson, and Leslie Bassett.

She lives in New York City.
